Intellectual Property

All rights to designs submitted to the competition will be retained by the entrant. Competition sponsors will have first right of refusal to any designs submitted to the competition. Entries will be published. All applicants will be required to sign a release allowing for publication of their designs. Winners' names, schools, degrees and instructors will be credited in the publication.

Competition Schedule

The competition will be administered as follows:

• October 1, 2011 – Competition announced
• October 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012 – Designs accepted
• April 2012 – Design judging
• May 2012 – Awards announced

Competition Sponsorship and Administration

The competition is jointly sponsored by Philips Lighting and AES Latin America. It is administered by the Lighting Research Center (LRC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
